One of the highlights of Li Chen Er Zhong is that the students have morning jogging before lessons in order to keep fit and healthy and also to build up their stamina. Here is a video of them jogging(below).

see how the pupils jog, so neat and orderly like an NPCC or NCC squad.

3rd day in Shandong

Today, to start the ball rolling, we learnt how to do Chinese seal carving of our surname. The teacher who taught us the pottery making gave us a brief introduction of what the seal carvings through a powerpoint slideshow including a video of how it is being done. We were given several equiptments and started doing the carving. We had to first practise writing our surnames in the China type of writing. Mine was quite difficult, and I took a long time to carve my surname on the "stone".

2nd day in Li Chen Er Zhong...

We went to eat in the canteen during lunch, the canteen is so big, so embarrasing our school canteen is only about half the size of one floor of canteen.

, we went to the pottery room to do pottery making. At first we did not any idea on what to do with that chunk of clay. Each of us had different ideas, some of us wanted to make a bowl, some wanted a cup, while some were still stuck. A China teacher came over and gave us some ideas and demostrated how to make the base. I decided to make a bowl and followed the way the teacher taught. All in all it was quite fun !!! Then after Jonathan, Kai xiang, and I had finished making the pottery, we still had lots of time left and we were feeling bored. We thought of playing basketball, mabey we can rent a basketball from the PE room to play in one of the courts. Our wish was granted by the teacher who taught us pottery making.

We went to the court and played among ourself. It was kinda boring playing with so little people, so the China teacher helped us "get" some 4 more China students to play with us. Wow, Singapore vs China by playing basketball. At first, they kept on scoring, then somehow later, Jonathan scored on a jumper. After that shot, we got into rhythm and also hit some shots. I played the position of a point guard, a " game controller" that makes the most plays in the team. I drove in two times, each for a lay-up, both went in. I also shot over a China player and scored.

Arriving in Li Cheng Er Zhong for the 1st time, day 1

"Amazing" is the word that describes Li Cheng Er Zhong. We were greeted by a lovely sight, a banner that was put up to welcome Chai Chee Sec as the bus drove past. when we alighted, some teachers and a principal waited and welcomed us as we gathered. I admire the way how the principal and teachers welcomed us, they came all the way out to receive us into their school, I'm sure this is the attitude our teachers in Chai Chee wants us to have, great hospitality towards visitors. We went to quite a number of places, the place where we got to play car games, although not as good as compared to those in the arcades, I still enjoyed myself. There are about 10 basketball courts in the school and it's like my ideal school. In addition, there is a minimart just below the students' hostel... Wow! Next we went to the pottery gallery and saw lots of vases, objects made by the students ( pic) and how the clay is being hardened(pic).

Afterwards, we watched a wushu performance performed by two China students.

I admire the way the kick and punch, so skilful !

The drum performance was also wonderful !
